1 引言
更新世期间由冰川性海平面升降引起的沉积旋回已从陆上的浅海相沉积层序中得到辨认,它包括新西兰旺阿努伊的Okehu群、Kai-iwi群和Shakespeare群[3,1],日本神奈川的Omma组[9~11]和房总半岛的Kazusa群和Shimosa群[2,24,12,25,6,4,13,18,14,5,7,8]。其中,房总半岛位于冷亲潮(Oyashio)和暖黑潮(Kuroshio)的混合水域附近(图1),这些沉积物中的软体动物组合是气候变化的敏感指示物。而且,显示古气候区系的软体动物组合可能是海平面的指示标志。因此,这些沉积旋回的成因已被解释为是冰川海平面升降的结果(如文献[25,12,13,8])。近来,Ito和O'Hara[7]声称他们通过对Jizodo组的层序地层分析,识别出了一个冰川海平面升降成因的沉积层序,对应于氧同位素地层的第12段至第10段。同样地,Yabu组相当于第10段至第8段,Kamiizumi组、Kiyokawa组和Yokata组相当于第8段至第6段[18,5,15]。然而,这些解释还未经富含在层序中的软体化石组合定量数据的检验。

2 地质背景
中上更新统Shimosa群的旋回层序在日本中部房总半岛的北部有很好的露头(图1)。它沉积在一个称为古东京湾的浅海湾地区。以千叶县Anesaki区的沉积旋回层为基础,Shimosa群可划分为6个组,按层序向上依次为Jizodo组、Yabu组、Kamiizumi组、Kiyokawa组、Yokota组和Kioroshi组。这些沉积旋回为非海相泥岩和海相砂岩的交互沉积。
3 方法
在软体化石的定量分析中,每个点上采集体积约为7dm3的85个大样。每个样品经过2mm筛网的筛选分离出化石和沉积物。我们用近代软体动物的水深分布和地理分布两方面的数据作为古气候的指示物[19,20,17]。Shimosa群中大部分软体化石都为现存的种类。Oya-ma[20]对其水深分布范围规定如下:N0——现生活在潮间带的种;N1——从低潮面至20~30m深;N2——从20~30m至50~60m深;N3——从50~60m至100~120m深;N4——从100~120m至200~250m深。O'Hara[17]使用了下列的地理分布;K-1——现生活在北纬35°以南地区的种;K-2——北纬39°以南地区;J——北纬35°以南至北纬39°以北地区;O-2——北纬35°以北地区;O-1——北纬39。以北地区。我们在分析化石组合中也使用了这些含义。
4 沉积相和软体化石
图2概述了Shimosa群旋回层序的古环境再造。Shimosa群中每个沉积层序包括2个体系域:海侵体系域(TST)和高水位体系域(HST)(图2)。TST表现为港湾泥岩、海侵滞后沉积和近海泥质砂岩。港湾泥岩相形成于海平面上升早期的海湾环境。海侵滞后相沉积于海平面上升早期的开阔海岸环境。TST和HST的分界面(下超面)在Shirnosa群中很容易辨认;TST的顶部具有弱胶结的化石密集层,形成一个凝缩段。HST表现为滨前和海滩砂。

氧同位素记录为V28-239。Jz—Jizodo组;Yb—Yabu组;Km—Kamiizumi组;Ky—Kiyokawa组;Yk—Yokota组;DS—沉积层序;TST—海侵体系域;HST—高水位体系域。
保存在Shimosa群中的软体化石是水深和海洋气候的有效指示物(图2)。从上潮下带冷水软体动物,经下潮下带暖水软体动物,再回到上潮下带冷水软体动物的旋回变化,出现在每一个沉积层序中。TST的底部包括浅海相软体化石,如在港湾泥岩中原地的Crassostreagigas和Potamocorbura amurensis,或砾状砂岩中外来的Glycymeris yessoensis和Dosiniatroscheli。下潮下带暖水软体化石的比例向TST的顶部方向增加。凝缩段包括下潮下带暖水软体动物,如Keenaea samarangae、Glycymeris rotunda、Glycymeris pilsbryi和Cryptopecten vesiculosus。在HST中,上潮下带冷水软体化石沿层序向上变得越来越丰富,如外来的Gly-cymeris yessoensis和Pseudocardium sachalinense;而下潮下带暖水软体化石不再出现。所以HST被解释为形成于气候变冷的条件下海平面下降的初期。这些动物群旋回反映了冰川海平面的升降。
5 讨论和总结
(1)Jizodo组包括3个沉积层序,Yabu组包括2个。所以,除位于Shimosa群最上部单元的Kioroshi组外,该群包括8个沉积层序,每个都对应于一个海侵-海退旋回(图2)。尽管在旋回中基本旋回结构相同,但每个沉积层序都有其特有的要素,如沉积相序和TST/HST的相对厚度等。例如,在最下部的Jizodo组中旋回结构是高度不对称的,TST不足3m,而HST厚得多,超过20m。在Kiyokawa组中,TST和HST具有大致相同的厚度。这些差异反映了沉积盆地内地理环境的不同。此外,从下部到上部,从不对称旋回到对称旋回的总趋势指示了盆地的逐渐变浅。另外,每个沉积层序在TST的底部内有不同类型的软体动物组合和沉积相,它们由海平面上升早期不同的沉积环境引起。例如,沉积层序1的底部(图2)包括泥质沉积内原地的港湾相软体动物,而沉积层序2的底部(图2)包括海侵滞后沉积内外来的浅海相软体化石。
(2)根据关键的火山碎屑的裂变径迹法(图2)和软体动物壳的电子自旋共振法测年结果(如文献[23,16]),Shimosa群的中下部的时限大约为0.4~0.2Ma。0.1Ma级别的气候变化和海平面升降被认为在0.6Ma之后才占优势,它包括了Shimosa群的沉积期(如文献[26,21])。实际上,以0.1Ma为周期的冰川性海平面升降造成的沉积层序,在Kanto地区的更新世浅海相沉积中已有报道[4,14,18]。然而,Shimosa群中的每个沉积层序被认为是在以大约20ka或40ka为周期的冰川性海平面升降影响下形成的。据米兰科维奇理论,它对应于轨道岁差或倾斜度的周期。由每个沉积层序中的软体化石组合作出的水深曲线,对应于来自V28-239的氧同位素曲线[22]。在Shimosa群的中下部,每个旋回对应于氧同位素地层的第11、9和7段的8个旋回中的海侵和海退(图2)。
