One possible version:。
Recently our English Club has had a debateabout whether there should be policies on controlling the purchase of privatecars in our city. We had different opinions.。
Some people support it. They say nowadays alarge number of people own private cars, which has caused many problems, suchas air pollution, traffic jams and an increase of energy use. There is no doubtthat controlling the number of private cars will reduce these problems.。
However, others think differently. Theyargue that they have the right to buy cars. What's more, if they don't havetheir own car, it isn't convenient for them to go out, whether for work ortravel.。
As for me, I agree with the former. In fact, we can use other forms oftransport like buses, subways and bicycles.。
